As of 4 June 2008 Geek Tech Support will be closed. I will be leaving to start my transfer from the Air Force into the Army. Since i am the only employee, Geek Tech Support will have to temporarily close. I will not have access to a computer until sometime in August. Once my laptop has been mailed to me I will be able to start doing remote IT Support again via LogMeIn. All website work will be put on hold until that time as well. If you current have a website hosted with GTS Web Hosting, your site will continue to function as it should, i will just be unable to make any changes. I will have my BlackBerry with me. That being said, I should be able to check my email every couple of days. |

Wired Home Network OS Setup (4 PC’s) MS Windows and Automatic DHCP Operating System Setup Instructions In this guide I will be using this Setup, as I have found the most common in residences. Important Note: If you need help setting up your “Wired” Home network on one to four PC’s please follow the steps below. Any Combination of Desktop or Laptop PC’s may be used in this setup, as long as they are connecting with Cat5. Before completing steps one through twelve of the Physical setup instructions contact your Internet Service Provider and find out what Type of IP Configuration they recommend using (Example: DHCP, Static, PPOE) and then proceed to the steps below, if they recommend DHCP.

Webmail is a handy little tool that will allow you to check your email from any computer that is connected to the internet. all without having to setup a mail client on each computer. 1. First you need to know the address for your webmail server. For this example we will be using the webmail server for Monarch Broadcasting. http://kwhw.com/webmail 2. Next you will need to enter your username and password. The username is going to be your email address. Your password will be the password that is assigned to your email account |

 Get Firefox Now
For those of you who have not lived under a rock for the last six months, you have probably heard of Firefox. It is completely free and open-source web browser by Mozilla. It does not leave any files behind on uninstalling, so there is no harm if you are an IE guy to at least give Firefox a chance. It is, in my opinion and in the opinions of many Technically savvy Geeks, a faster and more secure browser with a better development community for add-ons.
